History

Tradition and vitality are the twin characteristics of this vineyard, which is bordered by the Rhône river, the town of Nîmes and the Camargue district. There are many souvenirs of the Roman era in Nîmes, which is the capital of the Costières de Nîmes appellation, and its surrounding region. Amongst these are the Maison Carrée, the Arenas, and the Pont du Gard. The local wines were appreciated by the Ancient Greeks, and then by the Romans. They were known during the Middle Ages and were served at the Papal Palace of Avignon. Their reputation was considerable during the 16thcentury, when they were regularly exported.
